The Kentucky State Police Foundation supports the Kentucky State Police and its employees through public and corporate partnerships and community outreach to serve the interests of the agency in service to citizens of the Commonwealth. As a local, Frankfort-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization, the KSP Foundation promotes public confidence, the understanding of police activities and community outreach through programs and events.

Fundraising initiatives led by the KSP Foundation support major unfunded initiatives warranted by the strategic goals of the Agency such as Critical Assistance, Specialized Training and Equipment. Volunteers, donors, troopers’ families and civilians are encouraged to attend events, community activities and our annual gala to give back and get involved.

The Kentucky State Police Foundation exists to provide a critical bridge between the Agency appropriated budget and the reality of unfunded mandates that arise throughout the budget cycle. We also assist KSP with specialty items that Troopers, Officers, and staff need to accomplish their missions, such as Fentanyl response kits, tourniquets, and unique training equipment. Your support makes that happen!

— Hank Patton, Executive Director of the Kentucky State Police Foundation

Our Programs

Employees of the Kentucky State Police and the Agency benefit from the state-wide support driven by the KSP Foundation. While each program is unique, we honor the troopers’ and staff’s pursuit of excellence, perfection, educational advancement and community protection. Specialized equipment needs are met, and training equipment are provided to further hone and master their skills in their day to day duties to better serve the Commonwealth.

Major initiatives, like a Driver Skills Track, indoor firing range, or specialized training are also funded through the Foundation’s efforts. The Troopers do not currently have dedicated facilities to conduct some of their training requirements and must go out of state, or travel great distance from their assigned Post, to train and hone their skills.

Without the donors’ and sponsors’ support, the KSP Foundation could not provide imperative, consistent training and financial assistance to the agency’s programs that directly improves service to the citizens of our Commonwealth.
